Indiana Ballet Theatre Northwest
La Porte Civic Auditorium

Based on the story "The Nutcracker and the King of Mice" written by E.T.A. Hoffman, this performance of the Nutcracker Ballet was a fairy tale-ballet in two acts starring the Indiana Ballet Theatre NW Inc lead by Gloria Tuohy.
The first week in December two evening performances at the Star Plaza in Merrillville and an encore presentation at the La Porte Civic Auditorium the featured Tschaikovski's beloved music performed by the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra directed by Phil Bauman. Matt Nelson prepared the LCSO Children's Chorus to sing in the show and entertain in the lobby at intermission.
Between the stage and the pit there were hundreds of talents of all ages performing this life magical classic. It was an excellent example of a cultural arts collaberation for which all of the groups involved are well known.
Many thanks:
Hundreds of volunteers and parents that made this event possible
La Porte Family YMCA, La Porte High School Music Department and Agape Christian Church for providing space for months of rehearsal preparations for the La Porte show.
Bernacchi Greenhouses and the Lubeznik Center for the Arts for selling tickets.
