Docents teach about, create interest in, and develop appreciation for the orchestra and its repertoire in order to make the concert experience more meaningful to the students.

Our Docent Program conducts student orientation sessions in area schools in advance of our Children's Concerts, making a significant impact on the learning experience provided by these concerts. Docents, accompanied by an orchestra musician or guest artist.  They review facts about the orchestra, share biographical information and musical excerpts relating to the upcoming program, and also discuss concert etiquette with the students.
