We have grouped our offerings into:
2007 - 2008 Techer's Guide

attended by almost 7,000 students from 35 area schools
each year. The Children's Cncert is presented at the
Civic Auditorium in LaPorte. The highly interactive and
imaginative programs are designed to introduce the young
listener to world of symphonic performance.

about, create interest in, and develop appreciation
for the Orchestra and its repertoire in order to make
the concert experience more meaningful to the students.
Our Docent Program conducts student orientation sessions
in area schools in advance of our Children's Concerts,
making a significant impact on the learning experience
provided by these concerts. Docents, accompanied by
an orchestra musician, review facts about the orchestra,
share biographical information and musical excerpts relating
to the upcoming program, and also discuss concert etiquette
with the students.
