Anthony Brewer – Hoosier Star winner 2006
Anthony currently lives in Georgia with his wife April and his three children―Kaylia, Osyrus, and Katie. He is employed with PB Industries as an over the road truck driver. He attends Destiny World Church in Metro Atlanta where he works in the worship and arts department.
Anthony has worked and appeared on stage with artists such as Bridgette Campbell-Croft, Marvin Sapp, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Malcolm Jamal-Warner and Jonathan Butler. He is currently working on various projects and hopes to have his own recordings by mid summer.
Brandon Williams – Hoosier Star 2007
Brandon Williams has been singing since he could speak and has always had a passion for music. Since winning the adult division of Hoosier STAR, Brandon has gone from performing in musicals to singing across the region at various events and concerts. That includes his most recent project this past summer named Artistic Harmony, which was a benefit concert to provide the community with two nights of extraordinary music and singing.
Brandon has obtained a Business Administration degree with a concentration in management and his future goal is to pursue music. He would like to thank LCSO for continuing to provide our community with extraordinary music and his family and friends for always supporting him.
Brian Phillips – Hoosier Star 2008
In fifteen years as a veteran of the La Porte (IN) Police Department, Brian has seen it all. From his experience as a Detective/Crime Scene Investigator/Evidence Technician, SWAT Team member, to SWAT Sniper and Firearms Instructor, to the many funerals attended for fallen officers, one thought remained a constant: “Remember the fallen”. Beginning with the first funeral he attended for a fallen officer―a classmate who died while still attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Brian has trained other officers in an effort to make sure that those who have fallen did not do so in vain.
Brian first came to the Hoosier STAR stage during its first year in 2006. Brian returned in 2008, winning the Adult Division with his performance of “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera. Since that time, Brian has performed at various venues locally and nationally.
In 2007 Brian recorded an album titled “Tribute”, the proceeds of which go to Indiana C.O.P.S. and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. That album, containing mostly covers, also includes a song Brian wrote with friend Roscoe Hoffman (a 2007 Hoosier STAR contestant), titled “Why Do Heroes Have To Die?” Brian has performed his song for the 2008 National Peace Officers Memorial Service on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol, and at the 2009 Candlelight Vigil held at the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial for over 25,000 attendees. His song has been used countless times for officers’ funeral services all over the country.
In 2011, Brian was contacted by the American Police Hall of Fame to perform for a 10th Anniversary memorial concert on September 11th in Melbourne, Florida. That same weekend, Brian was informed that he was awarded the President’s National Medal of Patriotism by the American Police Hall of Fame. Brian lives outside of La Porte, Indiana with his wife Julie and their three children
Kyrie Anderson – Hoosier Star 2009
Kyrie Anderson lives and works in Northwest Indiana and is proud and grateful to have performed with the LCSO on several occasions. She graduated from IUN with a BS in Business Administration and works with ArcelorMittal. She enjoys participating in community theatre around the area - you may have seen her recently in shows such as Chicago, Jekyll and Hyde, and more! She hopes to continue performing in the arts for years to come - life wouldn't be much without it!
Nanda Danitschek – Hoosier Star 2010
Nanda Danitschek, from La Porte, is our Hoosier STAR 2010 adult winner and 2005 second place winner. She most recently played Eliza Doolittle in La Porte Little Theatre’s production of My Fair Lady and Merle in their children’s theatre production of Little Red Riding Hood and the Power Mutants.
Playing the lead role in several productions including Camelot, Lucky Stiff, Wild Party and many more, Nanda is a veteran of the musical theatre stage throughout Northwest Indiana and has played as resident company member to Canterbury Summer Theatre. She has sung the National Anthem at various sporting and organizational events, collaborated with many different artists vocally/lyrically from hip hop to rock, and recorded demos for aspiring lyricists. She enjoys community outreach and is a proud member of La Porte Service League, a non-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the children in the community through the arts.
Nanda is a vocal and dramatic coach at La Porte Little Theatre and a full-time student. She studied theatre at IUSB and is currently a psychology major at PNC. Upon graduation, she hopes to use her artistic talents to help children in all ways possible and hold this and her beautiful family as her central focus today. Nanda would like to thank the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra for giving her the opportunity to perform with such wonderful and talented musicians and vocalists this evening!
Betsy Archer – Hoosier Star 2011
Betsy Archer received a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of California at Irvine. She has performed as a soprano soloist, most recently with Calvin College’s Oratorio Society, singing Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Faure’s Requiem.
